I was inspired to write this post after reading Rebecca's blog post about the 52 weeks of gratitude challenge. Personally, I find it hard to be happy and positive in life, the cause? My mental health, which you can read all about here in my latest post. This year, however, is the year I want to change and improve my health and wellbeing. To start with I am going to take a step back, appreciate all the things I have in my life, and be truly grateful.
I think it's easy for us to get caught up in the moment, and we forget to show gratitude to the wonderful things we encounter, experience, and love. I for one am guilty of this. My mind is overflowing so much with thoughts, worries, problems, anxieties, that I can't ever seem to stop what I am doing, clear my mind, and relish in the positive aspects of my life. Positivity is key. I am on my journey to finding happiness, and like they say, life is about the journey, not the destination. That is my New Year's resolution. That is my goal of 2016. To be truly happy, to eliminate all the negativity in my life, and be positive. Be grateful.
The first week of this challenge is to explain why I am starting it and if I haven't expressed that enough, it's so I can fill my mind with positive thoughts each week, to truly realise all the good things I have in my life. I think this is such a good idea, for anyone looking to improve their mental state, for a daily reminder of all the wonderful things in your life, or just to become more grateful in general.
Thus, this will be my new weekly series. Where I will share with you what I am grateful for. The challenge is my motivation, it gives ideas on what to discuss each week, so I'd definitely recommend you give it a go, whether that's on your blog or just something to think about each week. You can find more information on the challenge here.
I'd love to know in the comments if you're going to be starting this challenge, or what some of the things you are truly grateful for? It's very inspiring. XOXO B.

This is a wonderful challenge! I used to keep a gratitude journal where every day I'd write down 3 positive things/things I was grateful for that day, and it was a really good exercise on seeing the positive even on the worst days. I'm looking forward to reading your gratitude posts xx
