I had a lovely week abroad, leaving all my troubles and worries behind in England, no doubt in my mind that they would be there to welcome me back once I arrived home. I love writing travel posts, and including a rather long photo diary (sorry about that), so hopefully you enjoy this!
We stayed at the Catalonia Punta Del Ray hotel, which was situated in a really quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle. This did mean there wasn't much to do, but I had no problem staying in the hotel with a good book, really, I read six in a week. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were wonderful, with extremely comfortable beds, and a bathroom to die for. I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a quiet get away!
My favourite part of the hotel was the spa, I definitely went to town on treating myself. I have been intrigued about fish spas for years now, always chickening out at the opportunity to have my feet "eaten" by fish, however I plucked up the courage this year, and the result? My feet never felt better, and the lovely women in the shop gave you a mini foot massage afterwards, so it was a win win situation really. Having fish eat away the dead skin on your feet was a weird sensation I won't lie, it felt like mini vibrations, and the first few seconds I wanted to pull my feet out of the tank (because ew fish), but it really made a difference to my feet, so I ended up going back and having it done again. Whilst at the spa, I also opted for a manicure, with nail varnish that is supposed to last up to three weeks. I picked a gorgeous pink colour, and had my nails filed and shaped. Lastly, I experienced a facial and neck massage, which was lovely, and it's made me want to book in for a spa trip every day of my life!!
I got the worst sun burn of my life whilst on holiday, I'm such an idiot (always always wear sun cream people). My back was burnt to a crisp, I couldn't wear a bra, clothes, couldn't sleep, it lasted like eight days, it was the worst pain in the world. BUT apart from that, it was a really good holiday and was nice to lounge around doing nothing all day long.
If you know me by now, and you've been following my blog for a while, you MUST be anticipating flower pictures? Like seriously, when do I not take photos of nature? The gardens at the hotel gave me the perfect opportunity to do so!
On one of the days we took a taxi to Santa Cruz and ended up being dropped off at a back street, where there were only a few Spanish restaurants, but we are glad we did, as the meal we had was gorgeous! I had steak and chips, and then for dessert (there always has to be dessert consumed) I had a blueberry cheesecake!
Obviously I can't forget about the photos I took lazily lounging around on a sun bed, so here you go.
Tenerife is home to beautiful black beaches, so upon exiting the hotel and realising there was nothing outside it, we decided to head down to the sea to take photos...I'm sure I could produce a moral of the story moment there so let me try...it's not about the destination it's about the journey? Aye, I have no clue, but least I got some pretty snaps of the ocean, so it's all good.
The hotel food was surprisingly quite nice at times, there was always something for me to devour, even if that was endless plates of chips and pots of ice-cream. On one of the nights we decided to eat in the Italian, and I opted for an Italian soup with pasta, which was gorgeous, a plateful of lasagne, and then the icing of the cake...the dreaded fruit salad. I mean, how artificial do those grapes look? I'm so confused by their colour lol. Safe to say I didn't like it, but I didn't want to look rude leaving it so my mum sneakily hid the fruit in her bag and went and threw them in the bathroom bin (lool #VeryBritishProblems)
I think the best meal we all had was in Tenerife Airport, in a restaurant called O'Learys, the food was absolutely delicious, I would 10/10 definitely recommend. I got a fajita style chicken burger with chips, my mum got fish and chips, and my dad got steak and chips, (I would have photographed my sister's kids chicken nuggets and chips meal, but tbh it wasn't that photo worthy).
Overall, I had a lovely holiday, Tenerife is a stunning island, and I'd love to go back and visit again sometime in the future!
I also vlogged my trip to Tenerife, which will be up soon on my Youtube channel which you can find here. It would mean the world to me if you would subscribe and check out my travel vlogs!

I went to Tenerife last summer and I would LOVE to go back and vlog it all! Tenerife is such a beautiful island, and there's so much to do there. It really made me want to visit some of the other Canary Islands to see how similar/different they were

Oh, Tenerife looks stunning! I'd love to visit it one day soon. Also, sun burn is the worst thing that can happen. Seriously, the pain isn't worth it. And in the end it all usually peels off, so that's loose loose situation, haha. Well at least for me. Anyways, it sounds and looks like you had an amazing time!
ReplyDeleteI don't have anything exciting planned travel vise but that's because I started uni and there is just not enough time to plan a decent trip. I'll need to wait till summer, I guess :(

Tenerife looks amazing, I love the black beaches and the hotel you stayed at looks really impressive too. I also love quiet holidays away from the hustle and bustle - give me a good book and I'm happy. Your story about the grapes me laugh so much, that can go straight into the Very British Problems Abroad book haha. Thanks to your post I'm craving chips now but luckily we still got some frozen chips so I'll go and make them now - thanks for the inspiration xx
