it's just never appealed to me, I've never enjoyed Halloween. Maybe if I lived in America I would, where I live it's crap, a few kids stick a mask on and come round for a bite size bag of Malteasers or the odd sweet. I enjoy decorating the house with my mum, we have some pretty cool props. I've never really appreciated the clothing styles that become trendy in Autumn, I just don't think I tend to follow trends.
However, upon being consumed by 'what I'm looking forward to about Autumn' posts, I have converted my once dire opinions about the season, to really looking forward to it!
So here I am, writing what I'm looking forward to about the upcoming months.
- I'm a Virgo baby, my birthday lands on the 12th of this month and I'll be 19 if you're wondering!
- Seeing the trees nestle colourful leaves on its branches, and stepping on them when they fall to hear that satisfying crunching sound.
- Matching the pretty leaf colours by sticking on that dare devil red or the plum purple lippy's that you haven't dared to rock yet. And if you want to match even further, go for the matching nails.
- Tartan! I used to wear this print tons in the Autumn months, I'm excited for it to make a reappearance.
- Snuggling in bed with the blankets, making the 'burrito look' work.
- I do this regardless of the season but having a hot drink whilst laying in bed, preferably tea or hot chocolate! (I don't like coffee so I've never been on the Starbucks hype, so the popular 'pumpkin spice latte' does not make it into my list)
- Looking forward to Christmas, I look forward to this holiday all the time, even on the 26th of December I'm already getting excited for next Christmas, but it's so close... don't supermarkets start selling Advent Calendars soon?
- Wearing skirts with thick tights, and pairing with boots, you simply can't go wrong! I think I'll take advantage of the fabulous styles this Autumn.
- This also includes big blanket scarves, I love the Tartan ones from Primark, I feel like I've never left my bed. Which is perfect for those days you just wished you could attend school in your pj's.
- Wearing a beanie again. 1) it's cute and effortless 2)it's gonna hide the grease and messy hair let's be real.
- Oh I'm starting University, how could I forget. A huge step in my life, I'll be studying Media and Popular Culture at Huddersfield University, exciting times! September has a lot to bring, cute fresher events (I'm sadly not attending the Fresher parties, although that may be a good thing, I've heard they're insaaaane!) like the Mad Hatter tea party and the vintage stalls, meeting new people, getting my head stuck down after sitting around doing nothing for months and months.
I think you could say I'm actually looking forward to these upcoming months!
What are you looking forward to this Autumn? XOXO B

ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan of autumn myself. There are a lot of birthdays in autumn and that means a lot of money spending which always comes with a price. But asides the fact that I am going to be broke for a month or so, I am looking forward autumn for it's cosy and warm evenings inside :)
