ALTON TOWERS SCAREFEST

I'm well excited to be writing you this post, I had the best day ever on Sunday the 9th of October thanks to 365 Tickets!

I was kindly invited to Scarefest at Alton Towers in return for a review! 365 Tickets generosity did not stop there, they kindly gave me another two free tickets so I could bring my best mates along... how sound is that?

Me, Natasha and Mariam began our road trip, extremely excited for the day ahead, blasting out Disney songs in the car, and all those old classics we used to bop to on our Sony Erricsons.. Oh yeah.

When we first arrived it was still pretty light outside, so we thought we'd have a wander around the park taking photos, as it looked incredible... the decor was seriously on point, and gave you all those Halloween vibes. We went on the Water Rapid ride, not expecting to get soaked or anything...I came off looking like a drowned rat. Noiiice.

We wanted to get in the Halloween mood, so we went back to our hotel and began getting ready, picture those Autumnal outfits and makeup looks, think boots, jumpers, scarves, and a dark lip. We stayed at the Splash Resort, which was so freaking cool. Like seriously, it was little kid heaven, but us lot being the biggest kids ever had no problem with this, they had an enormous water park at the hotel, we were so gutted we didn't bring our bikinis, were we not expecting a water park, did the hotel name not give it away??? S p l a s h. Oh and because we were in a family room there was one double bed, and a bunk bed, guess who took one for the team and slept in the bunk bed? Me. Them two best grant me friendship points.

Ah finally we were ready to enjoy Scarefest, me and Tash also vlogged our experience, so expect a Youtube video soon! Alton Towers is amazing, I've been before, but never at Halloween. It looked like a film set, the towers reminded us of Hogwarts, and there were pretty lights everywhere, and uh not so pretty clowns roaming around...

One of the most amazing things about Scarefest is that you can go on the rides in the dark, you need to add this to your bucket list asap. It's a whole new experience, and makes it 10x scarier. We went on the Runaway Mine Train, which is just all kinds of fun, it's surprisingly very, very fast!! Me and Mariam went on Thirteen, I highly recommend this ride, it's decked up with Halloween decor, and is just terrifying. The first hill...wow I had my head stuck under Mariam's armpit the whole way round, and then when the floor drops...please go and experience this, I had such an adrenalin rush afterwards. Me and Tash went on Galactic, I kept calling it Intergalatic and remembered this was a Lush bath bomb and not the name of the ride, oops. It's a virtual reality ride, and it was so much fun, I've never experienced anything quite like it before.

The Scare Zones were something else entirely. We walked through the Freak Show one first, and I got followed by a clown, he wouldn't leave my sight, I bloody hate clowns. And then we went through the Apocalypse one, which was one of the most scariest things I've ever done. It was really dark by the time we got to it, and I full on crapped them when I saw the guy with the chainsaw...that thing was so loud, he kept staring at me and made a run for me, I've never screamed so hard in my life. Just wait until you see the vlog...

There are also mazes for you to do at Scarefest, they're not included in the ticket, but you can do all three for £20 or pay £8 for an individual one. Me and the girls didn't end up doing the mazes, as they sounded claustrophobic and we aren't about that life. I think I would have cried and demanded to go home if I had done one of them, I'm a wimp. But if you're a fan of scary things and love getting that rush, I would highly recommend them!

The park is enormous, it really is one of the best theme parks out there, I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost and trying to navigate my way round there, because it was pitch black, and there were scary sound effects round the park, so walking through the woods was a great experience! It all adds to the excitement of Halloween!

What's included in your Scarefest Ticket:
Rides in the dark
Family entertainment
2 scare zones

I'd also recommend you stay in a Halloween themed hotel, especially if you have children, I think they'd love it, it adds to the excitement! The gate price for adults (12+) is £58.60, BUT on 365 Tickets you get it for a whopping £43.95 which I'd much rather pay! Children (3-11yrs) get it for £50.55 on the door, or get it much cheaper with 365 Tickets where you pay £38.95 instead! More ticket information here

Me and the girls had the best night ever, we then ended it by going back to the hotel, ordering a Chinese, and then having a drink in the hotel bar! Again, we'd just like to say a big thank you to 365 Tickets for their generosity in supplying us with these tickets, we absolutely loved Scarefest, and really want to go again. It's a worthwhile experience, and I 100% recommend it!

XOXO B.

  6. This looks fab, you lucky girl! I haven't been to Alton Towers since I was about 14 (I was there when Michael Jackson died... what a day). I always steer clear of theme parks around Halloween as I don't think my heart can take it haha!

  8. Great post!! Wow so lucky you were given the opportunity to test it all out. Sounds like you had a great weekend? The hotel sounds great too, what a lovely idea. I went for the weekend back when I was 18 with 3 girlfriends. We had one of the best weekends ever. Even though we had pretty crap weather, we had so much fun. My favourite rollercoaster was the one where it hangs you over a black hole before you drop in it. Typically it's the one I was most scared of at first, but after the first time, we went on it another 4 lol! We went into the maze in the castle. Not really knowing what we were queuing for at first lol! Oops. Most scariest thing I've ever been to haha! We brought a ticket for one of the mazes but actually found it a breeze compared to the castle.
