FAMILY!

Que, a photo of me when I was actually cute, with my mum! My top is really fab, I love that colour. Fashionista at a young age, ay with that half up, half down do, I knew the trend was coming. Also making an appearance is a huge forehead, bushy eyebrows that haven't changed to this day, and a mega grin. Happy holiday times!
Family.

A word I have begun to not take for granted. Not so much the word, but the semiology we attribute to it. Love. Friendship. Support. Kindness.

It's all about gratitude. Taking a moment back, looking at what we have in this life, and appreciating every little thing. I think sometimes, we take our families for granted, I know I do. Not really thinking that they are always there for us and willing to help.

My family and I fight like cat and dog. Unless you have a cat and dog that get along, then I will scrap that saying. But in the end, they're family. There's nothing I can do about that, unfortunately... Nah I'm totally joking! I wouldn't change them for the world.

I'm not really a mushy sort of person when it comes to family members, I've always been weird like that. I hate the whole hugging situation, like when you go round to ya Grans for a delicious Sunday roast and she's got all family waiting at the door to hug you one by one, I put my head down and try escape, hasn't worked out so much.

I'm lucky enough to have a great family on my mum and dad's side, it's a nice big bunch, like a bunch of flowers or something cute and symbolic like that.

I am grateful that for the most part my family lead a happy, and healthy life. I'm hoping I take on some of their genes in that area, as for me there's nothing worse than being poorly (which you know if you read this post).

They're an embarrassing lot. Who know how to have a good time. That's me in a nutshell tbh, I'm an absolute weirdo.

Let me know what you think the best thing about family is in the comments below! And if you've done the 52 weeks Gratitude Challenge and created a post about family, send me the link please! XOXO B.

  2. No one has my back like my family do! I don't live in the same town anymore so don't see them everyday/half as often as I'd like to but I dig them. I'm not much of a hugger either but I do dish out a lot of affectionate high fives their way. ha! xxx

  4. I love this post. Family is the most important people in our life but not all people see that which makes me a little bit sad for them.

  7. Aw I love this. Family is simply the best and I can totally relate to the hugging situation! I try to avoid hugs at all times and it NEVER works. In the end though you do appreciate the fact that they fought you for a hug. It really means a lot. I think the best thing about family is they can be really accepting and they are always so proud of you from the start. You are their pride and joy and you always feel great when you are around family. Well, immediate family, like your mum and dad. Family is the best <3

    1. Thanks lovely and yeah I totally agree! It's easy to be unappreciative sometimes and not fully be grateful for what we have, so this is a nice little reminder for me! Xxxxx

  8. Love it, Becky! Family is such an important part of my life, I don't know what I would do without it. The best thing about my family is that they are very open-minded people and very accepting, supporting :)

  9. That picture is adorable! I sometimes wish I could go back to being a child, it was so much easier. Family is really important and it's great when you can be weird together. ;) My brother and me got exactly the same sense of humour and it's driving our mother nuts haha. x
