YOU HAVE TO READ THESE!

You heard me right, put down your phones, allow your dog to eat your homework... AND READ THESE BOOKS.

I'm not joking. You HAVE to read these. Right now.

I was kindly sent some more books to read recently, and I literally can't contain my love for them. The books are in a series called 'Magisterium', so the ones out so far are 'The Iron Trial' and 'The Copper Gauntlet'. My first reactions were oh my gosh this is going to be like The Hunger Games or Divergent, or even like Magnus Chase which I recently reviewed here

WELL, I WAS CORRECT! I'm absolutely loving the whole magic and fantasy read recently, but these books are just something else. They're filled with friendship, adventure, monsters, battles, enemies, heroes, it really is the full package.

As always I'll include the blurb for ya!
The Iron Trial: Call has no idea what he'll come up against in THE IRON TRIAL but he knows that if he passes the test, he'll become a student of magic at the Magisterium. Only, all his life, Call's been warned to stay away from magic, so he tries his best to do his worst - but fails at failing. Now he must enter the Magisterium, and it's even more sensational and sinister than he could ever have imagined...

Read the first book before you look at this (spoilers and all)
The Copper Gauntlet: Callum Hunt has returned from the Magisterium victorious. He is now a mage in his own right - a Copper Year student. He has friends; he feels at home in the winding tunnels of the mysterious magical school. But Call hides a terrible secret. His soul is not his own. His body is a vessel for a powerful evil mage, wielder of chaos magic... murderer. Salvation could lie in the Alkahest, a mysterious copper gauntlet. But it is a dangerous object, with a violent history. It could destroy everything Call knows and loves... And release the evil within him.

THINK YOU KNOW MAGIC? THINK AGAIN. ENTER THE BREATHTAKING WORLD OF THE MAGISTERIUM.

Oh, I did. I really did and more. I felt I was being transported into a new world. Forget wanting to receive an acceptance letter from Hogwarts, it's all about the Magisterium. (HOWEVER, I WOULD STILL APPRECIATE A LETTER FROM HOGWARTS, not that I've been waiting for one or anything...)

I LOVEEEEE Callum, the protagonist.. he's amazing, I can really relate to him, minus the powers and him being a young lad and orl. I love how it's set in a school, it really does remind me of Rick Riordan's Magnus Chase, he even reviewed The Copper Gauntlet and said 'Full of twists and turns, surprises and wonders... I can't wait to read more of this series'. WELL NEITHER CAN I RICK, NEITHER CAN I!

Honestly Holly Black and Cassandra Clare (the authors btw), WELL DONE. Simply well done.

I thoroughly recommend these books (and all the rest to come), for those who love magic, who desire escapism, who want to feel that tension and suspense. It's become one of my FAVE book series, EVER.

  7. Sounds like really nice books to read. I am a big fan of a good fantasy and magic book. However, I am a huge Harry Potter fan and don't think it's possible to get better that it. At least till now I haven't read anything better in fantasy :)
