Lush: The Experimenter

Lush: The Experimenter

I've never posted a Lush review before, so to start things off I thought I would tell you how much I LOVE this brand and their products.
I've been a fan of Lush for years now, everything about it catches my attention, from the colourful and natural products to the overwhelming but sweet smell bursting from their stores.

Lush claim the following:
'We do not test our finished products on animals'
'Fighting animal testing'
'Ethical buying'
'100% vegetarian'
'Handmade'
'Naked packaging'

I tried out The Experimenter bath bomb a couple of nights ago, I was really intrigued when I first saw this, comfortably waiting for me to pick it up, alongside an array of bright colours and patterns. Originally the Oxford Lush store had brought out some products, that were only available in that store, deeply saddened, I peeped into a store when I had a day out in York with my boyfriend, and to my surprise this product had been made available everywhere!
The bath bomb costs £3.95, and the description Lush uses for this product is:
'If you're looking for an adventure...you'll find it in the Experimenter, starring vibrant colour, popping candy and Fair Trade Vanilla absolute from near the Rwenzori mountains in Uganda'. Upon reading this I was surprised to find out that there was popping candy in the bath bomb, I didn't notice this whatsoever, but then again I wasn't looking for it.

I chose this bath bomb because of aesthetic reasons, what further made me decide was the minty smell, the scent is very strong but I enjoyed it so much more when it was in the bath. It allowed for a calming experience and I was thoroughly relaxed, using it at the night time before bed to make myself more tired and chilled out. If you're interested in more specific details some of the ingredients include:
Sweet and comforting Fair trade Vanilla Absolute
Sweetly scented Tonko Absolute
Restorative and relaxing Vetivert Oil

The product is also glittery, which makes the bath even more exciting and magical! I put this bath bomb straight under the tap, and it did disappear very fast, I'm thinking that's my fault and I probably should have put it in the bath when it was full, maybe then it would have been slower and would have produced more colour. The colours spiraled out and formed a beautiful splash of colour in the water, it even created some bubbles! However, because of the many colours mixing together, it appeared to create a murky grey/green colour, however on further and closer inspection it looked gorgeous with beautiful sparkles floating around, creating a perfect relaxing environment.

Overall, this was one of my favourite bath bombs by Lush, accompanied by toasty warm water and my pamper routine, I felt well and truly relaxed. My entire body felt smooth to the touch, and the smell ensured luxurious bathing. I'd definitely recommend this bath bomb, and I cannot wait to try out the Intergalactic one which is also mesmerizing in colour and patterns, so stay tuned for a review on that soon!

'It's unbelievable, it's sensational, it's the Experimenter'

What are your fave Lush products? XOXO B

  1. This looks gorgeous! Unfortunately I'm more of a shower girl rather than a bath girl, otherwise I would buy so many Lush bombs :)

  14. I love Lush and all the companies ethics and products - I don't think I've ever been disappointed by something I've picked up in one of their shops! I looked at this the other day when I was in as I've read such good things about it and the pictures of it working are always lovely, but I wasn't a fan of the scent. I think I will pick it up though cause I love the idea of popping candy being in it and it looks so pretty in the water :) x

  22. I love the colors! Do they stain your tub or wash out with the water? I've wanted to try them, but I feel like I'm not sure if I could spend $8 on a one time use haha!

    1. So pretty aren't they! And I was worried that it would stain the bath, because it actually turned my white flannel pink, haha not complaining though... but nope it didn't stain my bath at all! And I know what you mean, if I had loads of money I wouldn't be too bothered, but because I don't I cry inside about how much money I spend on Lush lol! xx

  23. These colours are AMAZING! I used to have some really nice Lush bath bombs but I forgot them when I moved house... I think it might be time to pick up some more!

I love the idea of it being minty-scented as well. I don't like scents that are too sweet! My fave bath bomb so far has been Brightside, which was orange and mandarin scented :) xx
