Mother Shiptons/Knaresborough

Another day out accomplished. This time the backpack adventure was to Mother Shipton's and the cute little town of Knaresborough.
The weather was hit and miss, one minute it was cold, the next scorching sun beamed down upon us. It was a nice little day out, if you're interested you can keep reading for more information on the place, the story, and photos below!

Mother Shipton's is England's oldest visitor attraction which has been open since 1630. There is the 'Petrifying Well' that turns everything it touches into stone, and the 'Wishing Well', I think the name speaks for itself. If you like the outdoors and walking, I would recommend it, as the views are stunning. It is a gorgeous, picturesque place! I would also recommend it for children as they can find clues along the way and answer questions on a sheet of paper, their prize? A chocolate bar. WINNING!

It's not costly either, £6 for an adult, £4 for children, £2 parking. It's nestled in Knaresborough, a little town that I have fallen in love with. It was a great excuse to get my camera out again!

My family and I walked into Knaresborough town and visited some of the local shops, I picked up a dream catcher bracelet, oh and from Mother Shipton's Museum I picked up a glass bottle full of the wishing well water, GOOD LUCK COMING MY WAY!

We stopped off for some food at a nearby restaurant, and we were attacked by wasps, talked about by kitchen staff... but I enjoyed my meal at least, haha!

  4. This looks like a really lovely day out, and I really like your photos :) I hate when the weather changes so drastically from cold to hot, especially when you're out and about because either way, at least 50% of the time you're going to feel like you haven't dressed for the temperature! xx
